We are delighted to announce the contract extension of Ayr United defender Sean McGinty who has signed a new deal until the summer of 2023.
Sean, who joined the club from Greenock Morton last year has been an important figure in Lee Bullen’s side and has made 18 appearances so far in the Scottish Championship this campaign, netting on one occasion.
The 28 year old has had an impressive career to date, starting off as a teenager at Charlton Athletic before spells at English giants Manchester United, Morecambe, Oxford United, Carlisle United, Tranmere Rovers, Sheffield United, Aldershot and finally Torquay United.
McGinty moved north to Scotland in the summer of 2019 where he signed a two year contract in the Scottish Championship with promotion contenders Partick Thistle. After over 50 appearances at Firhill he made the move to Greenock Morton where he played under former manager David Hopkin.
On signing his new deal in Ayrshire, Sean was delighted to extend his stay at the club –“I’m delighted to extend my stay here at Ayr United. I’ve really enjoyed my time here since i joined last year and there is a great bunch of lads in the dressing room.
“It was a great result for us in Inverness last week so hopefully now we can kick on and have a strong end to the season.”
Everyone at Superior Sports Management would like to congratulate Sean on his contract extension at Ayr United.
