player biography

Ross Callachan is an energetic and technical midfielder known for his ability to cover ground and influence games from box to box. His football journey began at Raith Rovers in 2011, when he was just 17 years old, where he made his professional debut against Partick Thistle. Callachan went on to be a key player for Raith making 169 appearances over six years at the club.

In 2017 Callachan made a high profile move to Scottish Premiership outfit Hearts joining the club on a two-year deal for an undisclosed fee. The midfielder’s stint in the capital was brief and after 25 appearances under Craig Levein he moved to St Johnstone in 2020 marking a new chapter in his career. Later that season however, Ross moved to Dundee on loan but was unfortunately sidelined shortly after his arrival due to injury.

Following his return to full fitness Callachan departed St Johnstone and quickly found a new home at Hamilton Academical. This move proved to be a turning point in his career. Having become a regular starter, netting 10 goals in 33 appearances and showcasing his abilities Ross earned himself a move to a higher level.

In June 2021, he signed with Stuart Kettlewell’s Ross County on a two-year contract. Callachan made over 50 appearances in Dingwall and impressed with his technical ability and leadership before rejoining his former coach at Motherwell in 2023 where he remains.
