Matthew Todd Joins Superior Sports

We are delighted to announce the signing of Dunfermline Athletic midfielder Matthew Todd.

The former Fife Elite Football Academy Graduate was one of six players to move up from the Academy ahead of the 2018-2019 season. Matthew made his first team debut in the Scottish Challenge Cup match away at Inverness CT on 14th August 2018 before making his league debut against Partick Thistle later that season.

The 21-year-old experienced a loan spell at Brechin City in 2020 where he made 13 starts in total. Since returning from his loan spell he has been ever present in the Dunfermline first team after being selected earlier last season under the joint caretaker management of Steven Whittaker and Greg Shields.

Most notably known as a midfielder, Todd also displayed his versatility last season under former manager John Hughes as he played as a right full back in games throughout the season. After committing his future to the club at the start of this year until the summer of 2024, Matthew is back in pre-season training ahead of the new campaign.
