Lee is a demanding central defender and is marked by dedication, his aerial presence and leadership skills. A product of Kilmarnock’s youth system, Lee has made a significant impact at every club he has presented throughout his career. He made his Kilmarnock debut in May 2011 against Dundee, and it was made clear from the start his potential to go a long way.
After over 70 appearances at Rugby Park, Ashcroft made the move to Dunfermline Athletic and spent four successful seasons at East End Park. Leading the team from the back, showcasing his leadership skills each week, Lee was named club captain in the 2018/2019 season and was a pivotal part of the team.
Ashcroft continued to flourish, and his next move was to Dundee in July 2020 where he made an immediate impact in his first season. His stellar performances did not go unnoticed, and Lee was named the Andrew De Vries Player of the Year and Players Player of the Year come the end of his first season. He was also included in the PFA Championship Team of the Year.
After two successful promotions with Dundee, Ashcroft took on a new challenge and joined Partick Thistle in 2024. Since his arrival at Firhill Lee has settled in well, proved an important team player and has his sights set on promotion to Scotland’s top tier.
