Kyle Benedictus Named Raith Rovers Player’s Player of the Year

Raith Rovers club captain named Player’s Player of the Year.

Congratulations to Raith Rovers defender Kyle Benedictus on receiving the Player’s Player of the Year award this evening as the club hosted the 2020/2021 end of season awards remotely from their home stadium Starks Park.

The award, sponsored by The Jim McMillan Club, was awarded to Kyle for a series of excellent displays of skill and leadership in the heart of the Rovers defence.

Kyle Benedictus: “Obviously I’m delighted and thank everyone of them for this award. I think they’ve picked well but as I say it’s a team game and the things we’ve done this year have been different class. There’s still time to go so hopefully we can make it an even more successful season.

Raith Rovers manager John McGlynn also spoke of his delight for his captain receiving his award and called him a worthy winner.

John McGlynn: “He’s a worthy winner, he is a winner himself who sets a good example as captain of the club. He sets a good example in the dressing room and on the pitch. That is exactly what you want from your captain and he’s done exceptionally well. There is no better honour than to get it from your fellow players.

“It’s the biggest reward you can get and I’m sure Kyle is delighted to get that. I can continue to say the same thing, but he is a very worthy winner of this award and all his teammates have backed him up by giving him it.”

Congratulations Kyle from all of us at Superior Sports.
