Many congratulations to Queen’s Park goalkeeper Jack Wills who made his professional debut this afternoon at Airdrieonians in a Scottish Championship league match. Jack replaced Calum Ferrie late on in the match. This was Wills’ first appearance for Queen’s since joining in the summer from St Johnstone.
Calum Davidson’s men impressed to take their first three points on the road this season after previously taking a point at Livingston a few weeks ago. The spiders have started the campaign with four points from a possible nine and move into the playoff positions, eight points behind league leaders Ayr United but with a game in hand.
Jack was a youth player at St Johnstone under Tommy Wright’s reign at the club and worked under Alec Cleland playing for the St Johnstone B team in the Reserve league. He worked his way to the top and made the first team matchday squad against Hearts for the first time in a Scottish Premiership match on the 26th January 2019.
Since then, Jack has experienced loan spells at Edinburgh City followed by Brechin City where he made 30 appearances under manager Liam Fox playing a pivotal part in his team that went on to claim a third placed finish in the Scottish Highland League.
Now settling in to life at Lesser Hampden, Jack continues his new chapter of football at Queens Park and we congratulate him on making his professional debut this afternoon.
