Brad Spencer’s penalty helped Falkirk produce a thrilling comeback at Greenock Morton this afternoon as Falkirk held on to make it four wins in a row on their return to Scottish Championship football. John McGlynn’s dark blues now sit on maximum points behind league leaders Ayr United however do have a game in hand.
Morton started the brighter of the two sides and looked on course for their second win of the season thanks to Morgan Boyes’ early goal followed by Jack Baird’s header just before the half hour mark.
However Falkirk were not finished there and after Dylan Tait bundled over in the box, Spencer stepped up converted from the spot and pulled one back for the visitors. Falkirk got a grip of the game shortly after and it didn’t take long until they found the equaliser as Dylan Tait’s strike put the bairns level three minutes before the interval.
Full of belief that they were back in the game and with three points at stake they were all but secured fifteen minutes from the end as substitute Alfie Agyeman sent the away fans wild to seal a dramatic comeback at Cappielow for Falkirk and to extend their unbeaten run to 42 games.
Falkirk return to league action after the international break as they travel to Airdrieonians on Saturday 14th September.
