Ross Callachan is keen to get back onto the pitch with Motherwell, with one eye also on upskilling in a new area. The midfielder is part of a bespoke barbering course with PFA Scotland and is keen to grasp the opportunity with both hands.
“Barbering is something I’ve always been interested in. I’ve been speaking to Chris at the PFA and they’ve been trying to do a course for the last couple of years but I played up north and my options up there were pretty limited. In the summer though something came up, I met with Chris and he talked me through the course.”
I feel like it’s always good to think about what you’re doing after football and I have been as I’m getting older and barbering has always been an interest for me. Every player is different but I’m glad I’ve now started my journey. There’s a lot of courses with the PFA that guys can do that are involved in football so it’s always refreshing to try new things. Some courses might not be for other people but it might be for them so it’s good to just think about what you want to do and if somethings they’re available just go for it.”
Ross is currently working his way back from injury after joining the club in the summer from fellow Scottish Premiership outfit Ross County. Motherwell sit in fourth spot having won four of their opening eight games this season.
