Billy Davies Roadshow

Billy Davies thanks Nottingham Forest supporters after a great reception on his return to Nottingham

We were delighted to return to Nottingham for the first live event with our client and former Nottingham Forest Manager Billy Davies. The clubs former Manager sat down to look back at all his memories and successes alongside former players Lee Camp and Wes Morgan. It was great to see Nottingham Forest legend and former kit man Terry Farndale join the line up on the night as well.

Billy left the club after two spells, his first spell lasting two years before his reappointment a number of months later.

The former Nottingham Forest Scottish Manager reached two EFL Championship Playoff Semi-Finals. Remarkably, Billy broke the famous Brian Clough’s 30-year record of 9 consecutive home wins, setting a new club record of 12 consecutive wins in the same season and forming a great bond with the support at the City Ground. He is also in the top three Manager’s with the most EFL Championship Manager of the Month awards.

Other notable achievements during his time in Nottingham included a 19-game unbeaten run and 20 clean sheets in the same season, 7 defeats in 56 league games over two and a half years and a 36-game unbeaten home run over 18 months. In his second spell he guided the club to 13 defeats in 59 matches and went on a 16-game unbeaten run.

Having achieved so much at the City Ground and thinking back to the great times he had, Billy felt it was only right to return and engage with the Nottingham Forest fans and have a night full of football stories, memories from the past and to answer some questions from the supporters. Davies also decided to donate all proceeds of the evenings raffle to Nottingham Children’s Hospital where a total of £630 was raised.

Speaking after the live event he said ‘It was a tremendous night and one that I thoroughly enjoyed. It was great to see so many former players, staff and so many familiar faces who were at the club during my time in charge on both occasions.’

‘It was a pleasure to meet so many of the Nottingham Forest fans personally and to receive the standing ovation from the supporters was greatly appreciated and I hope they had a great night. Come on you Redz. Also a huge thank you to two wonderful players and huge fan favourites in Lee Camp and Wes Morgan. Another thank you goes to Forest legend and kit man Terry Farndale for some excellent stories, lots of laughter and his wonderful memories from his 42 years at the club. I would also like to thank Superior Sports Management, PWR, D&G Consultancy, Rogues Gallery and Nottingham Children’s Hospital for their support and involvement at this great event. Lastly, I would like to thank the Sport Dispute Unit for hosting a fabulous event for myself and all in attendance at the excellent Albert Hall Conference Centre.

Over the last number of years Superior Sports Management client Billy Davies has been building many qualifications. This also includes spending over a year at Liverpool University to achieve the certification of his LMA Diploma in football management. Over the last number of months Billy has covered many games throughout the UK and has been invited to visit top European clubs such as Sporting Lisbon, SL Benfica and other top tier clubs.
